Read All About It! – New members catch first fish at Millbrook.

Our relatively new members Ray and Kathy Hill have been reported to have caught their first trout at Millbrook, and yes we have photos to prove it.

A news bulletin just in reports that Kathy landed a 4.75lb Brown (Pictured below) with her legs buckling and her screams for help heard from the nearby town of Wallace. Luckily her guide Doddy was close by to assist.

Ray also caught a nice Brown (Pictured below) with the assistance of expert guide Philip Weigall.

The Passing of Bob Rutherford

It is with sadness that we advise the passing of Mr Bob Rutherford who was a valued past member of our club.

His funeral will be held at Le Pines Funeral Home 21 McDonald St Mordialloc on Monday October 30 at 2.30pm.

These details are for anyone who would like to attend.

Our thoughts go out to Bob’s family during this time.

A nice fish from Wendouree

I just received an e-mail from Roley Ansems who said that he caught a 4lb Brown at the Lake Wendouree interclub trip on Saturday September 21. Roley was being hosted by Chris Doody (President of Ballarat Fly Fishers) on his boat and caught this fish using a Green Magoo loch style.

I suppose this picture is proof! Well done Roley.

Wets – Tom Jones, Woolly Buggers, Damsels, Magoo’s

Dries: Royal Wulff’s, Humpies, Stimulators, Red Tags, Dunns, Possum Emerges, Adams Emerges

Other flies for strong consideration: Stick Caddis, Midges (Particularly the Maximus Midge), Small Black and Brown Nymphs.
